We're an Official ChatGPT Plugin!

We're delighted to be able to share that Tripsy is now in ChatGPT's official list of plugins, so as of today, you no longer need to turn on developer mode to add our MCP server to your ChatGPT account.

Because we're now in the plugins list, anyone using ChatGPT can easily connect their Tripsy accounts to ChatGPT. Yes, you read that right, accounts, plural!

As you can see above, I have connected two different accounts, my 'Test Account' and my 'Personal' account. ChatGPT lets you give each connected account it's own nickname. So, with both my accounts connected, I can ask ChatGPT what's next on my testing account, and it can be smart enough to know which account I want to query.

This is really helpful if you have multiple Tripsy accounts yourself, or someone feels they want to let you help with their trips via ChatGPT and logs you into their account.

What Can You Do with ChatGPT?

Our ChatGPT plugin uses our MCP server, so there's a lot of power and options available.

Let's take a look at a good example of how you can create a new trip with ChatGPT and Tripsy. Let's imagine we want a lovely weekend getaway to Paris leaving from London via Eurostar with two nights hotel stay and some of the popular activities during our stay.

Our prompt would be something like this:

Create me a weekend getaway in Tripsy for this upcoming weekend in paris, with a 4 star hotel with a pool, travel from London via Eurostar, and include some of the best activities for a short trip, making sure there's plenty of authentic restaurants.

Here's what our flow looks like from ChatGPT to the Tripsy itinerary:

You'll see that ChatGPT did a pretty decent job, but it left out the Eurostar travel, let's fix that! I now give a prompt that gives a bit more detail and gives guidelines for arrival times:

Voilà! Our transport is now arranged, and the observant amongst you will notice our helpful Smart Routes feature has given me route suggestions from Gare du Nord to my hotel.

We're genuinely excited to be included in the official plugins directory, and we're working with many other AI providers where we can to get into their connector and plugin lists too.

TripIt third-party integrations are no longer working

As of August 29, 2026, at 12:31 UTC, TripIt is returning a 404 error when users attempt to connect their accounts to third-party services, including Tripsy. This is unfortunate news for TripIt users who rely on integrations to access, sync, or move their own travel data between services.
